EPD charge parents with neglect; drugs recovered following narcotics investigation

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Two Evansville residents were arrested and charged with neglect on Thursday following an investigation into narcotics trafficking at an apartment on Cherry Street.

According to an affidavit, investigators conducted two purchases of cocaine from Troy Ogburn, 42, during the month of October. Authorities say video evidence obtained during one of these purchases shows a one-year-old child was present at the time.

After obtaining a search warrant for the residence, officers say they conducted a traffic stop on Ogburn after he was seen leaving the apartment building with the one-year-old child. After placing him in custody, officers say they were able to find a ledger containing multiple nicknames and dollar amounts and $4,572 on Ogburn.

While executing the search warrant at the residence, officers say the apartment had children’s toys and clothes “strewn about” along with a large playpen. An affidavit says the following items were recovered from the apartment during the search:
