Support long-term recovery in western NC through the NCCF Disaster Relief Fund

RALEIGH — The North Carolina Community Foundation is continuing to seek donations for its Disaster Relief Fund to assist in long-term recovery efforts related to Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina.

Funds raised for the NCCF Disaster Relief Fund will go to eligible organizations supporting recovery needs over the months ahead in western North Carolina communities.

Fundraising began immediately after the storm and the first grants will be awarded in early 2025.

Since the storm, donations have come from 49 states and Canada. The fund has also received support from many generous corporate partners.

“The devastation in western North Carolina is unprecedented, and we want to make sure community organizations have funding to support the long-term response,” said Jennifer Tolle Whiteside, NCCF President and CEO. “We have been heartened by the outpouring of support so far and will ensure that donations to our Disaster Relief Fund are distributed to organizations that can best help in the recovery.”
