(MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo.) — The Manitou Springs City Council passed an ordinance approving the installation of speed cameras and has now announced when those will be rolled out around the city.
The Manitou Springs Police Department (MSPD) continues its efforts to enhance traffic safety across the city. In September, the City Council approved the implementation of speeding cameras. MSPD is now in the process of researching and analyzing data to make sure the initiative is implemented in a fiscally responsible manner.
The installation of speeding cameras throughout the city is planned to be implemented in the summer of 2025.
“Our priority is to find the best solutions that serve our community’s needs without placing undue financial strain on city resources,” said Police Chief Bill Otto. “We are dedicated to a thorough evaluation process before rolling out the program.”
The initiative is part of a broader strategy by the MSPD to curb speeding and ensure the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.
