IDENTIFIED: Victim of deadly 2-vehicle crash in Hanford

HANFORD, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The person who was killed following a crash on Tuesday in Hanford has been named by the city’s police department.

On Friday, Hanford Police announced that the person who died after the crash, which took place at the intersection of Grangeville Boulevard and University Avenue, was 47-year-old Parth Patel.

Officers say both drivers involved in the crash sustained significant injuries. Parth Patel was taken to the hospital following the crash and was later pronounced dead. Investigators say the crash appeared to be caused by one of the drivers involved not stopping at a red light.

Preliminary findings indicate that neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the crash. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, police say.
