MADERA, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A driver was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence on Thursday – at night without headlights on, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers say the suspect’s vehicle was seen driving in the darkness with no lights on in Madera.
After making the traffic stop, CHP says the driver displayed several signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication.
According to the CHP, the driver was not able to perform field sobriety tests. The driver was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.
“Being under the influence impairs a person’s motor skills, reaction time, and judgment,” wrote CHP on social media. “You might not realize you are driving in complete darkness.”
