Aurora Venezuelan gang flap: Jurinsky not stoking fear with promise to release videos, she says

Aurora City Council member Danielle Jurinsky, who has released a flood of information showing Aurora police knew and were very concerned about the Tren de Aragua gang more than a year ago, says she is not stoking election year fears.

Jurinsky has released internal emails from police officers on X. The emails showed that officers were not advised to respond to some gang calls at troubled Aurora apartment buildings without an armored vehicle.

Jurinsky said a viral video released by a resident of one of the buildings will appear mild compared to what she’s about to release. The resident’s video showed several men with guns breaking into an apartment. The video has been replayed millions of times on social media. Some people responded on X that if Jurinsky has more videos, she should release them now. Otherwise, she is stoking election year fears.

“What does this mean exactly?” posted one. “Why not release (the videos) now since it’s this super pressing issue? Otherwise, this looks like a poor attempt at a scare tactic before an election.”
