Glimpses of Greenville: From A&P grocery to Trehel modernization

Pendleton Street has been a primary road bringing traffic in and out of Greenville since our earliest days. On the northeast corner of Pendleton and Academy streets, a brick storefront served the community first as an A&P grocery store and later McDonald’s Appliance store. Today, 914 Pendleton St. is home to an adaptive reuse project developed by local general contractor Trehel in 2020. This unique project preserves the original structure while adding two additional floors above it. In addition to serving as Trehel’s headquarters, the building is home to marketing agency Cargo as well as Wow! Salon and Greenville Aesthetics. The mixed-use building continues to provide an anchor for the revitalized area between downtown Greenville and the Village of West Greenville as the upstate enters its next phase of growth and development.
