LINCOLN — Grants of between $5,000 and $35,000 are now available for fixing roofs and brickwork on historic structures in Nebraska.
The “Bricks and Mortar” grants, to be handed out by the Nebraska State Historical Society, are aimed at repairing properties on the National Register of Historic Places.
A total of $80,000 is available, which can be used to reimburse 80% of eligible project costs.
The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Nov. 15. Applications must be submitted online via the website: history.nebraska.gov/historic-preservation/bricks-and-mortar-roof-grant/
Additional points are given to properties that are in communities with a population of less than 50,000.
