Large amount of drug activity at Tampa home leads to 8 arrests: deputies

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Eight people were arrested following a six-month investigation into a suspected drug operation being run out of a home in Tampa.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said its investigation centered around the activities of 46-year-old Alphonso Guice, a seven-time convicted felon.

Authorities believe he was selling large quantities of drugs out of a home on South 51st Street.

The drugs being distributed reportedly included cannabinoids, fentanyl, methamphetamine and other controlled substances.

Detectives executed a search warrant at the home on Thursday, Oct. 24. While there, officials said they found 27 pounds of cannabinoids, an AK-47 rifle, several rounds of ammunition, and numerous structures on the property used for drug activity.

Guice was arrested and charged with multiple offenses for allegedly selling and trafficking drugs, while seven others were arrested on possession charges.
