Team members of the YMCA of Greater Erie now have extra CPR and AED training pumping through their veins.
Wegmans and the American Heart Association have provided a hands-only CPR training kit to the YMCA.

This kit will be able to train groups of 10 to 20 volunteers and children in their youth sports programs all at once.
CEO Jim McEldowney said that this training will provide extra safety and reassurance to their members.

“We have thousands of kids who do youth sports every year and hundreds of volunteers that help coach them. This give us the opportunity to provide those volunteers the necessary tools that they can help children if something were to arise on the field or on the court,” said McEldowney.
“I think it’s really going to ensure the safety of those children and enable them to play and participate in these sports and know if there’s help there if they need it,” said Jana Ranus, perishable area manager at Wegmans west Erie.
