Norfolk police investigate stabbing at Tinee Giant, suspect detained

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man faces life-threatening injuries following a stabbing at a Tinee Giant on Sewells Point Road.

On Friday, Norfolk police responded to a report of the stabbing at 7101 Sewells Point Road at approximately 4 p.m.

The victim was transported to a hospital to be treated, and a suspect has been detained at the scene.

The perimeter of the store was surrounded by police tape. Inquisitive locals crowded the street in an attempt to figure out what happened at their neighborhood convenience store. 10 On Your Side asked if anyone knew what occurred but no one was willing to be interviewed.

10 On Your Side also spotted Ramin Fatehi, the Commonwealth’s Attorney, on scene. He spoke with locals and police before entering into the store.

“I can’t speak to anything further. They have an individual in custody. There is no immediate danger to the public,” said Fatehi.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time, and there is no further information available for release.
