Michigan Restaurant Accused of Bouncing Paychecks

Owner of Michigan restaurant chain Bobcat Bonnie’s is looking to dump restaurants. Matthew Buskard has already closed two restaurants.

Most of the regional chain’s locations are located in southeast Michigan, and the shakeup comes as social media reports that the gastropub has not been paying its workers.

An Instagram account Bobcats United, that represents the workers, says that Buskard shut down the Ypsilanti location.

“Like many small restaurants, we are shrinking our footprint so we can be more focused on our other locations throughout Michigan,” the restaurant’s statement said.

But workers at other locations are complaining about the company’s treatment.

“Bobcat Workers: WE. DESERVE. MORE. Our paychecks are bouncing. Our hours are unbelievable. Our schedules come out at the last moment. Our restaurants are grossly mismanaged. Our managers degrade and demean us. This is IMPERMISSIBLE and INSULTING.” Bobcats United said.
