DILLSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — The Dillsburg Arts Council started in 1998. “We started in 1998 with revitalizing the downtown part of the square and the clock,” says council member Jay Young, “And the themes for the square, and we’ve expanded it. We decided to do something this past year to expand our services to the community.”
That something is the Dillsburg Cultural Arts Center for Arts and History Come Alive, located on South Baltimore Street. It opens to the public this Sunday.

“This weekend we’re throwing a party,” says Young. “It took us 24 years to get here, but we’re going to have a party and we’re opening the Cultural Arts Center. We’re going to have a ribbon cutting at 2:00.”
The center showcases local artists.
“And the best part,” says Young, “Is they are all different media. We have watercolor, we have acrylics, we have oils, we have pottery, we have woodworking, and we have glassblowing. And it is amazing in this area, the talent, especially the level of talent that we have as far as art and the works of art that these people produce.”
