Hesperia man accused of stealing property from remodeled homes in Riverside County

A Hesperia man is accused of stealing property from remodeled homes in Riverside County, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials said.

At 8:48 a.m. on Monday, deputies arrested Pablo Marquez, 55, for allegedly having stolen property at his home in the 7300 block of Salem Avenue in Hesperia.

Edgewood Homes of Redondo Beach reportedly had multiple newly remodeled homes burglarized in the Murrieta and Temecula communities, authorities said. Each of the homes was equipped with new Whirlpool kitchen appliances, which are valued at $3,700. The sets included a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove and microwave.

On Saturday, Oct.19, a vacant home on Chauncy Way in Temecula was burglarized and a Whirlpool appliance set was stolen. Deputies were contacted because it was believed the items were being transported to the High Desert, sheriff’s officials said.

Investigators found the stolen items at the suspect’s home after they served Marquez with a search warrant. The stolen items were recovered inside a van on the property, deputies said.
