Heavy Frost & Freeze Possible Across Areas of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia

More Scattered Showers & Thunderstorms Across the East Coast of Florida

10/26/24 10:28am ET

Good morning everyone. The Northeast remains quiet, although we have a 2 day cool-down on the way courtesy of a fairly dry cold front sweeping through. This means little to no precipitation in the region as drought conditions continue. 60’s will give way to 50’s and some 40’s in colder spots, then we bounce back in a big way come Wednesday and Thursday, with some mid to upper 70’s along the coastal plain.

That cold front and drop in temps will create some concerns for heavy frost and freeze conditions overnight Sunday into Monday across areas of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia. Temperatures overnight during this cool stretch will drop below freezing in this region. If feasible, take care of your outdoor plants and crops.

Across areas of Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina, the same cold front will bring some scattered showers and possible thunderstorms today and tonight. Look for brief gusty downpours and possibly a few rumbles of thunder. No severe weather is expected at this time.
