Muscogee Co. School District confirms first responder presence at school was precautionary with ‘no threat to safety’

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Muscogee County School District confirmed on Friday afternoon the first responder presence at Columbus High School was due to a mechanical issue, with no immediate threat posed to students or staff.

The full statement is below:

“The Muscogee County School District (MCSD) is aware of the police and emergency response presence at Columbus High School. Due to a mechanical issue, Columbus Fire and Safety, along with local law enforcement, was dispatched to the school as a precautionary measure. There is no fire or immediate threat to safety and welfare of students and staff.”
