One dead after crash in Rensselaer

RENSSELAER, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Rensselaer Police reported that one person died following a car crash on Friday morning. The crash happened around 7:12 a.m. at the intersection of Broadway and Tracy Street.

Officers arrived to the area after receiving reports of a car crashing into a parked vehicle at the intersection. According to police, first responders found that one of the drivers was experiencing cardiac arrest at the scene.

Following initial life-saving efforts by emergency medical personnel, the driver, whose name has not been released, was taken to Albany Medical Center, where they were later declared dead. Broadway was closed from Tracy Street to Washington Avenue for a time while the crash was being assessed.
