High school cross country: Fairless boys end 46-year state meet drought

PICKERINGTON — The long wait for the Fairless High School boys cross country team is finally over.

The Falcons clinched their first state meet appearance in 46 years Saturday when they finished sixth in the Division II regional at Pickerington North.

Fairless freshman Brice Fuller was runner-up in 15:42.98. He won last week’s district meet at Cambridge,

Minerva will send its boys and girls teams to next week’s state meet. The girls team finished second to earn a 10th straight state berth. The boys came in third and are heading to state for the fourth year in a row.

Sandy Valley’s Casey Russell won a Division III girls regional title in 18:43.25. She will make her third straight state appearance.
