North Side shooting leaves 1 dead, 1 in critical condition

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A man is dead, another critically wounded, after an overnight shooting on the city’s North Side.

It happened just after 12:30 a.m. along the lakefront near Belmont Harbor Saturday.

Chicago Police say two men were standing in a parking area when a dark SUV pulled up and someone inside started firing shots.

A 22-year-old man died at the scene while another 22-year-old was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

One of the men, identified as Adher Luna, was shot in the head and died at the scene, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. The other was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the left arm and chest.

No one in custody as police continue to investigate.
