Nick Saban Reveals Solution For Florida State Amid Disappointing Season

Nick Saban and the ESPN “CollegeDay” crew were in Bloomington, Indiana, on Saturday, previewing the Week 9 college football slate.

Before the GameDay panel made their predictions for a couple of big-time matchups, Saban talked about one of this season’s most disappointing teams.

The Florida State Seminoles, who came into the year as the preseason No. 10 team in the nation, are currently 1-6. They’re flirting with another loss Saturday as they travel down south to play an in-state rivalry game against the No. 6 Miami Hurricanes (7-0).

Given the Seminoles’ rough start to the season, Saban revealed a solution for the program. He believes Mike Norvell and the staff need to send a message to struggling FSU players.

“One thing that I always used … my greatest tool when trying to establish the culture, was the BENCH,” Saban said. “When guys don’t do what they’re supposed to do or buy in the way they’re supposed to, you put them on the bench.”

While the quarterback position has been a widely discussed topic in Tallahassee, with Norvell having to play DJ Uiagalelei, Brock Glenn and Luke Kromenhoek this season, there have been other glaring issues.
