Another Starbucks to Close after 30 Years in Dilapidated, Depressed California Neighborhood

San Francisco’s SoMa neighborhood is set to lose another Starbucks, with the store located at 120 4th St. scheduled to close permanently on November 8.

A spokesperson for Starbucks confirmed the closure to the news website SFGATE but did not provide specific reasons to the publication behind the decision.

Employees at the SoMa location will have the option to transfer to nearby stores of their choice. This particular Starbucks has been a staple in the area since its opening 30 years ago in 1994, the SFGATE report read. Despite the closure, Starbucks continues to operate numerous locations throughout San Francisco, including one directly across the street at 789 Mission St., according to SFGATE.
