Saturday’s high school cross-country roundup: Shrewsbury, Wachusett rule Mid-Wach A

Mid-Wach A Championships: Chris Guerin won the 3.1-mile race in 16:21, the top time of the day at Lake Dennison in Winchendon, and three teammates also finished in the top 10 as Shrewsbury (30) captured the meet title.

Giuseppe Villani (third, 16:36), Noah Csank (sixth, 16:50) and Francesco Villani (eighth, 16:54) also lifted the Colonials, whose best five were among the top 12.

Benjamin Duffy (fourth, 16:40) and Brady Bartley (seventh, 16:53) paced runner-up Wachusett (49). Stephen Green (16:41) placed fifth to lead third-place Algonquin (51).

Mid-Wach B Championships: Greyson Duane (16:33), Andrew Kosiba (16:48) and Micah Pierantozzi (17:02.29) finished 1-2-3 over 3.1 miles while boosting Groton-Dunstable (21) to a convincing repeat as league champion at Lake Dennison.

Evan Solger (fifth, 17:23) and Alex Lampe (10th, 17:50) completed G-D’s top five.

Sanuel Duffy (fourth, 17:11), Luke Curcio (eighth, 17:38) and Trevor Sears (ninth, 17:42) led second-place Nashoba (49). Jayden Brostrom (seventh, 17:29) helped Oakmont (109) finish third. Andrew Naim (17:28) placed sixth to pace Marlborough (109).
