Good morning everyone. As discussed yesterday, we are watching unseasonably cold air filtering in for the overnight hours across the Northeast & Mid-Atlantic. Sub-freezing temepratures overnight will cause concerns for widespread heavy frost and freeze in areas that will experience it for the first time this season.

For this reason, the National Weather Service has issued frost advisories and freeze warnings across parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia. Air will even be cold enough in cities such as Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and Atlantic City to warrant advisories and warnings in typical “heat island” regions.

Ahead of this colder airmass, we’re watching the boundary set off more on & off soaking rain and rumbles across parts of North Carolina and South Carolina. This is the same area of energy that set off some heavy showers & thunderstorms across Tennessee, western South Carolina, and western North Carolina yesterday.
