Two notices for I-75 drivers in Ocala: Temporary closure of a ramp and a rest area

Florida Department of Transportation officials have announced a temporary ramp closure along Interstate 75 in Ocala and a temporary closing of a rest area.

The work is “part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) 14-mile resurfacing project on I-75 from the Sumter County line to S.R. 200,” officials said in a news release.

Here’s what we know:

+ The northbound I-75 on ramp at County Road 484 will be closed from 8 p.m. Oct. 28 to 6 a.m. Oct. 29.

Drivers who wish to get onto northbound I-75 from CR 484 during this time should go east on CR 484, turn left at County Road 475, the left again at Southeast 32nd Street, which becomes SW 42nd Street and then SW 43rd Street Road. From there, turn right onto State Road 200 and left at the I-75 northbound ramp.

+ The southbound I-75 rest area, close to mile marker 346, will be closed from 8 p.m. Oct. 29 to 6 a.m. Oct. 30 for resurfacing of the rest area’s entrance and exit ramps.

Other rest stops can be found north at mile marker 382 in Alachua County or south at mile marker 307 in Sumter County, FDOT officials said.
