Southern California Braces for Weather Shift with Strong Winds, Cooler Temperatures, Thunderstorms

Southern California is set to experience a significant weather change as high pressure, which has kept the region warm and dry, gives way to a strong disturbance early next week. According to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard, coastal areas will continue to see low clouds and patchy dense fog each night and morning this weekend, while inland areas remain dry.

However, conditions are expected to shift dramatically on Sunday night through early Tuesday, with much cooler temperatures, gusty winds, and a chance of light rain or drizzle. This change is partly driven by mid-level moisture from Hurricane Kristy, which may increase the chance of thunderstorms, particularly late tonight and Sunday. Forecasters are keeping a close watch and may add a slight chance of thunderstorms to the forecast.

Residents should prepare for potential gusty winds and cooler temperatures early next week, as well as possible patchy drizzle and light rain along coastal areas.
