Eight local high school bands earn trip to state finals at Lucas Oil Stadium

The Indiana State School Music Association’s open class semistate competitions took place on Saturday, and eight local high school marching bands earned spots in competition at the state finals.

Bands are divided by school enrollment size, with the biggest schools in Class A and the smallest in Class D, with those in between in classes B and C.

Here’s a look at the local schools that advanced to the state finals at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis in each class.

Class A at Ben Davis High School

  • Castle High School

Class B at Pike High School

  • Jasper High School
  • Reitz High School
  • North High School

Class C at Decatur Central High School

  • Boonville High School
  • Princeton Community High School

Class D at Franklin Community High School

  • Mater Dei High School
  • Forest Park High School

The state finals take place Nov. 9. Performance times for each school will be announced later.
