Eight Southwestern Indiana school marching bands advance to state finals

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — After a full day of competing in Indianapolis, eight Southwestern Indiana high school marching bands will return to the city to compete in the State Finals.

The Indiana State School Music Association hosted their Open Semi-State competition with countless schools across the state all day Saturday.

The high schools competed based on different class sizes based on student population.

The following Southwestern Indiana high schools competed on Saturday and have advanced to the State Finals:

  • Castle Marching Knights (Class A)
  • Jasper Marching Wildcats (Class B)
  • North Side Marching Legends (Class B)
  • Evansville North Green Brigade (Class B)
  • F.J. Reitz Mighty Marching Panthers (Class B)
  • Princeton Community Marching Tigers (Class C)
  • Boonville Band of Gold (Class C)
  • Mater Dei Marching Wildcats (Class D)

These schools, amongst other qualifying schools, will return to Indianapolis on November 9 to compete in the State Marching Finals at the Lucas Oil Stadium.
