At 6-2, the Colorado Buffaloes are bowl-eligible for the first time since the 2016 season. Deion Sanders’ squad beat the Cincinnati Bearcats 34-23 on Saturday night for their fourth conference win in the school’s first season in the Big 12.
The official AP Top 25 Poll will be updated on Sunday, but ESPN’s computer-generated football power index has already put Colorado at No. 22 entering Week 10.
The 6-2 start also marks a remarkable turnaround, as Colorado finished 1-11 just two seasons ago in 2022. The 57-year-old Sanders has led Boulder’s finest to only their second season of at least six wins since 2007.
According to USA Today’s Steve Berkowitz , Sanders also earned a pair of sizeable bonuses on Saturday night.
“Colorado coach Deion Sanders set for $300,000 in bonuses as Buffs defeat Cincinnati for their 6th win of the season and become eligible for a bowl game,” Berkowitz wrote on X. “Sanders gets $150K for 6th regular season win and is set for at least $150K for a bowl/postseason appearance.”
