Chicago police issue warning after series of armed robberies in Auburn Gresham

CHICAGO – Chicago police are issuing a warning to the public after numerous armed robberies in and around the Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

Police said the incidents happened at the following times and locations:

  • 1600 block W 82nd St July 24, 2024 at 11:00pm
  • 8200 block S Ashland Ave July 31, 2024 at 2:00pm
  • 8100 block S Marshfield Ave Aug 3, 2024 at 11:15pm
  • 8100 block S Marshfield Ave Aug 23, 2024 at 6:00pm
  • 8100 block S Marshfield Ave Aug 24, 2024 at 7:30pm
  • 8100 block S Ashland Ave Sep 9, 2024 at 5:30pm
  • 8100 block S Ashland Ave Sep 21, 2024 at 5:45pm
  • 8100 block S Ashland Ave Sep 22, 2024 at 3:00pm
  • 8100 block S Marshfield Ave Sep 24, 2024 at 6:00pm
  • 8200 block S Ashland Ave Sep 27, 2024 at 4:00pm
  • 8200 block S Ashland Ave Oct 10, 2024 at 12:00pm
  • 8200 block S Ashland Ave Oct 21, 2024 at 1:30pm
  • 8200 block S Emerald Ave Oct 23, 2024 at 11:40pm

During the incidents, the suspects approached their victims on foot and demanded their wallets and cell phones, usually while showing a small black gun. The suspects are also believed to be the same individuals who robbed delivery drivers as they approached a home, according to investigators.
