Retail is my beat. I report on store openings and closings around the country. I also like to pass along valuable tidbits to consumers. That’s why when I discovered the best car wash deal around, I felt compelled to share it.
Recently, a friend of mine—let’s call him “The Squirrel”—tipped me off to the car wash deal at the Spinx service centers. I had to give it a try. They have one of those drive-through tunnels that does an excellent job of cleaning cars. The base rate for a wash is only $7.00. Of course, there are add-ons for things like tire treatments and hot wax, but the basic wash does a great job. $7 would be a great value if it ended there, but Spinx offers much more.
Once out of the wash, there’s a bank of vacuums available for free! There’s also window cleaner and a solution to clean the plastic surfaces on the interior of your vehicle, all accompanied by reusable towels. All for $7! I took both of my cars to the nearest location on Highway 41 just west of Mt Pleasant, SC. and got them both spick-and-span for $14. No extras, not even a tip jar! Thanks, Squirrel!
