Coming off a 23-11 season, the Huskers return three starters but also have seven transfers and two freshmen, so it’s going to take some time for the team to jell.

Nebraska showed that at times on Sunday, struggling to pull away from the Lakers early and leading by just five points at the half. The Huskers also turned the ball over 14 times, were out-rebounded 41-37 by Grand Valley State and shot just 6-for-22 (27%) from three-point range.

A total of 11 Huskers scored on Sunday, with transfer Gavin Griffiths and returning senior Brice Williams leading the way with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
