The Phoenix Police Department has been thrust into the public eye once again following the release of a Critical Incident Briefing video detailing the events leading up to, and including, an in-custody death that occurred on October 13, 2024; as per the briefing, the situation unfolded after officers were dispatched to a reported shooting involving a U-Haul truck at the intersection of 49th Avenue and Thunderbird Road, according to information from the Phoenix Police Department.
