Pikes Peak United Way hosts trick-or-treat, coat giveaway

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — For the second year, Pikes Peak United Way and the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) offered families a safe, fun way to celebrate Halloween with trick-or-treating and games on Saturday, Oct. 26.

While kids collected candy, adults explored resources from United Way and its partners.

Through a partnership with Catholic Charities’ Coats for Kids program, children attending the event also received a free winter coat.

“It’s just wonderful to be able to have that partnership because our Family Success Center opened in December of last year and we have seen tremendous growth,” said Elizabeth Quevedo, Senior Vice President of Community Impact, Pikes Peak United Way. “But to be able to offer additional services like coats before winter sets in has been really, really amazing.”
