LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson is providing an update on early voting, which began in most areas of the state this past weekend.
There have been reports of long lines across Mid-Michigan, it is essential that those planning to vote early are registered. Sec. Benson said more than 250,000 people voted early over the weekend and 1.5 million absentee votes have been received.

Your early voting location will be determined by your permanent residence. Voters can only cast ballots at their designated voting location . Early voting is available through Nov. 3.
As of Monday morning, Sec. Benson said 61% of all voters this weekend were under 60 years old, 13.5% were under 30 and so far 55% of voters have been women.
Early voting allows flexibility when picking your time to vote, a perk that Lansing Mayor Andy Schor and his wife Erin took advantage of today.
Lansing residents can cast their votes at the Foster Community Center. The center will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for all nine early voting days.
