JJ Redick Admits to Shaq He Was a “D**Khead in College”

Lakers head coach JJ Redick sat down with the all-star center and host of The Big Podcast with Shaq on Sunday to discuss a range of topics related to Redick’s coaching vision and his expectations for the Lakers organization.

The freewheeling conversation touched on a plethora of topics, but the most eye-opening segment came when Shaquille O’Neal asked coach Redick about a confessional and self-critical statement he made:

“You said something the other day that I didn’t think I would hear from you. You said you had the ‘head syndrome’ when you were in college. Can you elaborate on that?”

Redick nodded and unapologetically criticized his college persona, refusing to hide from his mistakes:

“I have some s**t to me. I’ve had a bunch of teammates that have some s**t to them. I like that. I didn’t quite appreciate it when I was in college, so I didn’t know how to channel that in a positive way.”
