Utah storm bringing rain and snow mix throughout the state

SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) – Happy Monday, Utah – get ready for big changes! A prominent cold front arrives today which will impact northern Utah by the afternoon before getting the chance to warm up, capping temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s which is about average for this time of year.

The bottom line? A cold front brings cold air and valley rain-mountain snow this evening into Wednesday. Valleys could see a rain/snow mix.

Central and southern Utah will see the front arrive late at night into the early morning, so they’ll have the chance to warm into the mid to upper 60s and upper 70s for typically hot spots before cooling down.

Ahead of the cold front expect gusty conditions, especially in southwest Utah. A Wind Advisory is in effect for Iron and Beaver Counties today from noon to 9 p.m. Southwest winds of 20-30 mph and gusts up to 50 mph are in the forecast, so make sure to secure all your Halloween decorations!

Today starts cloudy with a few sprinkles in the east and southwest corners of the state but should clear by the late morning. When the cold front passes northern Utah in the evening we’ll have scattered precipitation, and the same can be said for southern Utah, but not until around midnight.
