Hicks’ lucky break came after he initially searched for a different ticket but ended up buying the winning one instead. The Extreme Cash scratch-off offers a maximum prize of $1 million, with the odds of winning it standing at 1 in 2,017,650.
Post-Win Plans
Hicks plans to use his winnings to retire from his carpentry career of 56 years and support his children. He also intends to treat himself and his loved ones to a feast at a local Golden Corral restaurant.
