FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man was sentenced Monday for his role in two separate confrontations, during one of which he was accused of injuring a man with a boxcutter.
A judge in Allen Superior Court handed Skyler Navarro, 31, a total of six years behind bars, according to the prosecutor’s office.
This past December, Navarro was charged with aggravated battery, battery with a deadly weapon, battery resulting in serious bodily injury and criminal recklessness.
According to court documents in the case, Navarro visited the trailer of a couple he knew in October 2023. The victim would later tell police in court documents he let Navarro inside because he felt sorry for him. The victim began packing up some food and other items to give to Navarro, who was accused of overstaying his welcome and doing drugs, asking the woman who lived there to get high with him, according to court documents.
Navarro then told the woman her boyfriend had a “hit out on his head,” court documents said. When Navarro then threatened her with a pair of scissors, she attempted to distract him so she could call 911.
