Community United Church holds 16th annual Diversity Service

A local church held a special service today, standing in solidarity with Erie’s LGBTQ community.

Community United Church held its 16th annual Diversity Service, inviting the LGBTQ community to worship at their church.

Educational resources regarding legal system provided at 3rd annual Community Law Day

The church’s pastor said the church is an open and affirming congregation, which means they boldly welcome anyone into their community and respect their diversity.

And after the church’s sidewalk was vandalized yesterday ahead of today’s service, the pastor says it’s important to love one another whether you believe in god or not.

Events being held to raise awareness concerning Ukrainian humanitarian needs

“We don’t want to quietly be known as a place where people are welcome. We want to boldly say, in a world especially where LGBTQ people are being marginalized, told they’re heretics and being kicked out of churches. LGBTQ, straight alike, everybody is welcome here and we don’t want to be quiet about that,” said Rev. Dr. Rich McCarty, Community United Church.
