Surveillance video released by the NYPD on Monday shows the young suspect picking his nose repeatedly as he holds open a subway exit gate.
The 36-year-old victim was exiting the Roosevelt Avenue/74th Street station in Jackson Heights around 6:20 a.m. when the suspect targeted her, police said.
He tried to rip the chain off her neck, but he was unsuccessful, according to police, who said he fled on foot empty-handed.
The victim was not injured in the attempted chain-snatching, police said.
