Jahmeik’s parents , 26-year-old Nytavia Ragsdale and 25-year-old Laron Modlin, were both charged with manslaughter in his death. The city’s Administration for Children’s Services is conducting an investigation to determine whether it could’ve helped prevent the tragedy.

Jahmeik’s family filed a lawsuit against ACS, claiming the agency failed to intervene “despite prior allegations of abuse and a prior investigation.” They’re seeking $40 million in damages.

The funeral will be held at the Elim International Fellowship church in Brooklyn at 6 p.m.
