Karen Weber loves to give things away.
Before her Nothing Bundt Cakes opened Oct. 4 in Estero , the co-owner was already busy.
“I went up and down (the neighborhood) weeks before giving out Bundtinis,” she said, referring to bite-size bundt cakes (think cake-pops minus the stick). “Everyone loves them. They really sell themselves.”
And as part of a weeklong grand opening celebration, Karen will be at it again on Saturday, Nov. 2.
Up to 300 guests will receive a free confetti Bundtlet (an adorable individual-sized bundt cake).
“For me, giving back to the community is the best part,” she said. “(My husband) reminds me we have employees and bills to pay. Otherwise, I’d just be giving it away.”
Karen and husband Larry opened their first Nothing Bundt Cakes in Colonial Square off Six Mile Cypress Parkway in Fort Myers 4½ years ago.
“We opened at the height of COVID,” Karen said. “And never had to close. If we could make it through that we can make it through anything.”
That trying start didn’t deter future plans.
