THORNTON, Colo. (KDVR) — Two brothers who lost their entire family in a crash in Thornton Saturday were hoping what had happened was only a “nightmare.”
It was not.
Their father Francisco Diaz, mother Beatriz and two younger sisters Paola and Nataly were all killed in a crash in Thornton this weekend. Police said one of the vehicles caught fire after being hit.
For the past two days, 22-year-old Daniel and 20-year-old Adam Diaz have been trying to be strong for each other.

“At this time it’s really hard for the both of us because we are really close to our family because we all lived together,” Daniel said.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Thornton Parkway and Washington Street.
“I was going to eat and that’s when I was gonna walk in to go eat, I get a notification that my little sister Paola had been in a crash-detected SOS,” Daniel said.
