KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — On Sunday, November 3, we will turn our clocks back one hour . There will be more daylight during the morning hours while it gets darker earlier in the evening.
This also means, your chances of encountering motorists driving without their headlights on goes up. A situation many of those we spoke with all know too well.
“For sure, I was driving on the highway and I saw a couple of people on each side of me and none of them had their lights on,” said Knoxville motorist Jacob Eberle.
“Usually, when I’m on any of the back roads getting near my house, or even on the interstate, I notice people without their headlights on,” added fellow driver Sierra Hicks.

As a matter of fact, numbers show that drivers are three times more likely to be involved in a severe car crash from dusk to dawn.
“I’ve been doing reconstructions for 22 years and obviously, the majority of our fatal crashes are at night,” said Knoxville Police Sergeant Greg Womac.
