Spokane firefighter dies of cancer, survived by wife and two children

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Fire Department has announced the death of Firefighter Josh Rhoads, who battled cancer for more than five years.

According to SFD, Rhoads joined the department in 2017 and worked at Stations 1 and 7. The department described Rhoads as a beloved colleague and friend who worked with a selfless willingness to help.

He passed October 24 and is survived by his wife and two children.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 2. The attendance is limited to family, friends, and first responders.
