Jelly Roll Brings Healing To Apalachee High School With Private Concert In Wake Of Devastating Shooting

Students at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia are still healing from and mourning the losses of their classmates and teachers when a shooter opened fire back on September 4th. The 14-year-old gunman killed two teachers and two students, and seven others were injured. The senseless, violent act devastated the Winder community, and many of the residents there have just been hoping to return to a sense of normalcy. Jelly Roll decided that it would be the least he could do to put on a special performance for the people in the Georgia town, even if it only meant that residents could escape reality for a couple of hours. So before he was set to play State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia this past Saturday night, the rapper-turned-country-artist carved out time in his schedule to drop into Winder, Georgia to put on a private afternoon concert for students and their families. Jelly Roll set up in Winder’s Jug Tavern Park and played a full set for those that were affected by the Apalachee High School shooting. The City of Winder stated that the concert would be the perfect opportunity to “foster healing and unity for the students, faculty, and families of Apalachee High School as they come together to reflect and support one another following September’s tragedy.” And while Jelly Roll was performing, he emphasized that, and let everyone know that he did everything in his power to get the concert organized in order to help provide some temporary relief:
