I love making cinnamon rolls for breakfast in the fall. I make them using this pretty simple recipe that has always been a family favorite. You will need the following ingredients:
Recipe:
Dough
2 3/4 cup of all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 cup of sugar
1 cup of warm water
2 1/4 teaspoons of active dry yeast
1 egg, at room temperature
2 tablespoons of butter, softened to room temperature
Filling
1 cup of brown sugar, firmly packed
1/3 cup of all-purpose flour
1 stick of butter, softened
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
2 tablespoons of milk
Glaze
1 cup of powdered sugar
2 tablespoons of milk
In a medium bowl add the warm water, sugar and the yeast and let the mixture set until the yeast becomes foamy on top.
Add the flour, salt, butter and beaten egg and mix until this comes together.
Kneed the dough, by hand or mixer, for 5 minutes.
Cover the dough and let it sit for 10 minutes.
Roll the dough out to a 15 x 10 rectangle.
