Jury unable to reach unanimous vote in child molesting trial

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – A trial for an Evansville man charged with child molesting has ended in a mistrial.

This is due to the jury being unable to reach a unanimous verdict.

An affidavit says an alleged victim came forward and said Joseph Neuendorf had inappropriate sexual contact when she was 13 years old. Neuendorf was allegedly told to stop but did not.

According to court records, the jury was deadlocked at a 9 to 3 vote and the court declared the mistrial after 2 p.m. after a two-day trial.

Records show the trial was reset to December 18.
