UMD in last place in Big Ten blood drive competition, school pushes for more participants

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – It’s blood sport for the University of Maryland as the Terrapins compete in a blood donation competition between the 17 other Big Ten schools. As of Tuesday night, the University of Maryland was in last place with only 83 blood donors. While the leading Big 10 school, the University of Nebraska had 1,923. So Terrapins have a lot of catching up to do before the competition deadline on Dec. 6.
