Harrisburg officials move to take control of embattled Governor’s Square housing complex

Harrisburg officials on Tuesday moved to take control of an embattled housing community known as Governor’s Square by asking to have a receiver appointed. City Solicitor Neil Grover said city officials were “fed up” with languishing repairs, failed sales attempts and a lack of information from the current bankrupt owner, Uptown Partners. He said a receiver appointed by a local judge could triage and jumpstart vital repairs for remaining residents and prepare the property in uptown to meet codes and for a potential sale.
